Bitcoin Foundation Ukraine (BFU)
Founder of the first crowdfunded crypto platform in Eastern Europe. First Ukrainian crypto-banker and founder of the official Crypto Fund of Ukraine. 15+ years of experience in telecommunications and Internet services management. In March 2014, Michael founded the Kyiv-based KUNA Bitcoin Agency and the non-governmental organization Bitcoin Foundation Ukraine (BFU) to popularize blockchain technologies and make crypto accessible. Later in September, Michael opened the world’s fourth Bitcoin Embassy, followed by the launch of KUNA, the first Ukrainian public cryptocurrency exchange in 2015. In December 2017, Michael presided over the Blockchain Association of Ukraine, a non-profit organization that promotes the integration of blockchain technologies into the Ukrainian economy. In January 2018, he introduced Blockchain HUB at the worldwide famous Economic Forum in Davos, followed by the project’s launch in March. Later that year, Michael became the founder of the CryptoRous fund, a non-profit organization that aims to advocate and support Blockchain technology, build a knowledge network and explore the potential for digital economy development. In February 2020, KUNA released the Cryptohryvnia (UAX) stablecoin, allowing users to convert Ukrainian national currency into crypto. In February 2022, in collaboration with the Ministries of Digital Transformation and Defense, Michael launched the official Crypto Fund of Ukraine to provide financial support for the Ukrainian army and people due to the Russian invasion.
